The difference between conventional media and online media

In the conventional media and online media contain the same elements that both facilitate information contained therein to be conveyed to the public. But the two media are not equal, because both have different characteristics in terms of speed of information, as well as in terms of weight news reader.

1. Speed information
In general, the conventional media like print and electronic media require sufficient time to publish the information, although there are electronic media that broadcast news directly, but it is dangerous sometimes. In the electronic media such as television viewing and there are regular events at the TV station so that it sometimes difficult if you have to reset the clock display in the event something important and urgent must be displayed at that time also. Like for example there is information about the disaster of the correspondent who suddenly happened, so that TV stations must respond quickly and deliver breaking news about the disaster, although in practice it is very difficult to prepare for the studio as well as other devices to deliver news in a period of fast. In the TV media information was provided in the form of visuals and sound, that's what makes the preparation of an event in the aired TV takes a long time.
While the online media in most of the information conveyed visually static, which means in the form of text or images, while the form of videos very few if any were rarely found. So the information transmitted can be very fast. Only with to publish any information, then the entire computer or any other communication devices that connect to the Internet can access it. This is evident when the tsunami occurred in Aceh in 2004, this is the first media to send information about the disaster.

2. Weight News
News in terms of weight, the quantity of online media more, because in the online media, everyone who can access the Internet can send information to the personal weblog site or on other sites. Activities such as these are often referred to as citizen jurnalism. But the contents tend to be subjective and quality information is not necessarily better, because most of them are not the ones who are experts in journalism and non-communication graduates. But not a few others so the information can be received and did not violate the code of journalistic ethics. But whatever it is, every person is guaranteed their freedom in the opinion right?
While the conventional media in quantity is less than online media. Only the people in the field of journalism who can find and send information. And information received from journalists are not necessarily directly loaded in the media, but should be edited first by the editors, therefore, not seldom made news reporter is different from that contained in the news media.

3. Terms of reader / viewer
In terms of reader / viewer, the conventional media tend not besifat interactive. News or information just conveyed so alone, so the viewer / reader can only receive and passive. Meanwhile, online media, the reader / viewer will be easier to make comments or respond to any information available on the weblog site or other sites, so that it can be said interactive media. But for online media audience is certain circles, because there are some areas in world who are not familiar with the internet. And also not all people understand how to use the internet. in other words, the number of Internet users less than users of conventional media.
